Totem Ceramics Studio - Art to the Rescue!!

An Estepona pottery school has raised €725 for several Costa del Sol dog rescue charities by hosting a sculpting competition. A total of 61 people entered the fund raiser that was run by potters Chad Morritt and his daughter Suzanne at Totem Ceramics school throughout May.

1st and 2nd prize winners
The winner of the competition was 'Gnasher' by Debbie Lawson with Lucy Reeds English bull terrier voted runner up. Suzanne said that the standard of entries was so high that instead of 5 runner up prizes of free pottery classes they awarded 10.

She said "We are thrilled to have raised €725 for needy dogs on the Costa del Sol with our first ever fundraising event.

"We were very pleasantly surprised at the high standard of the entries even though the vast majority of participants had never done pottery before. Judging the competition wasn't easy but Debbie's Gnasher really stood out from the crowd. We had so much fun running the event that we are already thinking about next years event. Debbie won a ceramic dog sculpture. Those who entered the competition got to choose which charity their €10 entry fee went to. As one of the charities registered to benefit, ADANA were awarded €190."

Thanks to Chad and Suzanne for organising such a fun event and of course to all those that donated their entry fee to ADANA.
