ADANA Christmas Fair - 25 Nov

Another successful fair for ADANA

ADANA held its annual Christmas Fair at the Estepona Palacio de Congresos on Sunday, 25 November 2012.

There were over seventy stalls offering a variety of merchandise, much with a Christmas theme. Particularly successful were the ADANA Christmas cards with photos of ADANA dogs by the internationally-renowned animal and landscape photographer Geoff Simpson, who has offered his services to prepare a range of other exclusive merchandise such as calendars, all featuring dogs in the ADANA kennels in Parque de los Pedregales.

As well as Christmas gifts, quality used clothing, arts and crafts items and books and CDs, there was a range of food and drink on offer and excellent entertainment from young dancers.

The fair raised 4,500 euros - over 1,000 euros more than last year - all of which will go to caring for the more than two hundred dogs currently in the ADANA kennels. ADANA needs to raise around 8,000 euros a month in order to provide the dogs with food, veterinary care and to cover the expenses of its two employees and currently has to raise this from the public - no financial help is given from the Town Hall, as you know.

The ADANA Board wish to thank Paula Read, a comparatively new ADANA member, who valiantly took on the task of organising the Fair and who did a truly wonderful job. Thanks to everyone who helped on the day by managing a stall or supplying food and drink to the hungry, thirsty hordes. You are all very much appreciated...we’d be lost without you!
